Separation & Divorce

According to OwenBy Law P.A. about “50% of all children in the United States will witness the end of a parent’s marriage” and “an additional 50% of the children who witness a parent’s divorce will also see the breakup of a parent’s second marriage.”

Divorce can have a heafty impact on how a child learns in and out of school. Children need as much support as possible from their teachers while trying to navigate this impactful situation.

Children's reactions and what we can do to support them differs based on individual situations as well as age group. In this page, you will find what to look out for in terms of behaviors, what you can do in the classroom, how can you support families and why it is helpful to do so, and last but not least, all the other places a child can lean on for support outside the classroom.
